High-Intensity Twin-Stick / ARPG Horde Shooter
Ignominious Defeat is a high-intensity, skill-based top-down twin-stick ARPG-infused shooter where a lone player faces hordes of up to 3,000 enemies in a fast-paced, unending battle.
The sole victory condition is the Hall of Defeat, a competitive grade leaderboard, with the goal to climb the ranks by prolonging inevitable defeat with skill. Players control precise movement, aiming, and dodging in 5–20 minute sessions. Progression relies on a streamlined, automatic RPG leveling system to reduce decision fatigue, shifting focus purely to combat execution. A structured 1-2-3 runic combine system enhances run-to-run variability via PRNG-seeded outcomes, ensuring unpredictable depth while maintaining secure competitive integrity.
